We saw the X6 ActiveHybrid concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year, and here's the real thing. It's tipped for production in 2010.
Electric operation : The Active Hybrid system combines BMW's Efficient Dynamics technology such as stop-start, and offers fuel savings of around 20%.
Electric dreams : The X6 Active Hybrid can travel short distances in electric-only mode, with the electric motor assisting at start-up and again at higher speeds to boost torque.
First of many? : The hybrid technology in the X6 is likely to be the first time it appears on a BMW, but it won't be the last, as we expect it to be rolled out on to a number of models in the coming years.
