SHAH ALAM, 10 September 2008 – PROTON Holdings Berhad today announced the appointment of Claudius Meynert as the new Director of International Sales and Services Division (ISSD). Meynert, 44, will spearhead ISSD and drive PROTON’s aggressive export growth.
PROTON’s Managing Director, Dato’ Haji Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir said: “With Meynert at the helm of PROTON’s ISSD, the company is now more equipped in its effort to focus on PROTON’s long term export strategy, concentrating on high growth regional markets namely ASEAN, China, India Middle East, including North Africa.”
Meynert is optimistic and looks forward to contributing and developing new sales and marketing strategies for PROTON’s ISSD and aims to further improve PROTON’s brand equity in the respective markets.
An MBA holder from the Georg August University in Goettingen, Germany, Meynert was attached to German carmaker Audi AG for 14 years with several significant sales and marketing management positions in Germany, China, Thailand and Singapore. He last served Audi as Managing Director of Regional Headquarters for Asia Pacific, before setting up Trade Asia in 2007, an automotive and parts trading company, based in Bangkok, Thailand.
